Walking With Grandma

"Walking With Grandma"

I like to walk with Grandma,
Her steps are short like mine,
She doesn't say, Now Hurry Up
She always takes her time.

I like to walk with Grandma,
Her eyes see things like mine do...
Wee pebbles shining, a funny cloud,
Half hidden drops of dew.

Most people have to hurry,
They do not stop and see.
I'm glad that God made Grandma
Unrushed and young like me.

keeping cool with juicing!

Every Summer we have a wonderful time using our juicer to keep fresh and hydrated.
The kids love to try out new recipes. If you have a juicer here is a recipe for a wonderful drink that Asha and Bryce came up with a couple of days ago. They called it

"Frutylicious"
3 carrots
2 apples
2 sticks of celery
1 cup fresh pineapple
8 large strawberries
1 medium lime with peel
servings: 3
Enjoy!

When God Made Fathers

WHEN GOD MADE FATHERS.
When the good Lord was creating Fathers, He started with a tall frame. An angel nearby said, "What kind of a Father is that? If you're going to make children so close to the ground, why have you put the Father up so high? He won't be able to shoot marbles without kneeling, play pretend drinking tea, and kiss dolly goodnight, tuck a child in bed without bending, or even kiss a child without stooping?" God smiled and said, "Yes, but if I make him child size, who would children have to look up to?"
And when God made a Father's hands, they were large. The angel said, "Large hands can't manage diaper pins, small buttons, rubber bands on pony tails, or even remove splinters caused from baseball bats." Again God smiled and said, "I know, but they're large enough to hold everything a small boy empties from his pockets and a little girls paper dolls and jump rope, and to teach her to turn cartwheels, yet small enough to cup a child's face in them.
"Then God molded long slim legs and broad shoulders, "Do you realize you just made a Father without a lap?" the angel chuckled. God said, "A Mother needs a lap. A Father needs strong shoulders to pull a wagon, to balance a bicycle, or to hold a sleepy head on the way home from the circus.
"When God was in the middle of creating the biggest body any one had ever seen, the angel said, "That's not fair. Do you honestly think that form is going to get out of bed early in the morning when the baby cries, or walk through a birthday party without crushing one or two of the guests?" God again smiled and said, "It will work. You will see. It will support a small child who wants to ride to Banbury Cross or scare mice away from a summer cabin , or walk in shoes that will be a challenge to fill."
God worked throughout the night, giving the Father few words, but a firm authoritative voice; eyes that see everything, but remain calm and tolerant. Finally, almost as an afterthought, He added tears. Then he turned to the angel and said, "Now are you satisfied he can love as much as a Mother can?" The angel said nothing more.

Our Joy

Asha

Bryce

Our Little Indiana Jones

Bryce, our 4 year old son has been so intrigued by Indiana Jones. He has seen all the Movies and now Indiana Jones is involved in pretty much anything he does. for example, if he's eating lunch and doesn't really want to eat his veggies, he corrects himself and says: "I'll better eat my Broccoli if I want to be strong like Docta. Jones."
Yesterday he wanted me to take some pictures of him dressed as Indiana Jones.
He dressed up in his white church shirt and coat. He put on his black boots and grabbed his rope. How fun it is to dream like a child!

Princess Bubbles

We recently had the privilage and great blessing to adopt a chihuahua puppy. Some one had found her, and to make the story Short, we decided to take it upon ourselves to care for her. We fell in love with her from the first moment. Asha Our 6 year old daughter Imediately named her Princess Bubbles and took care of her quite well. We all agreed that Asha would be her primary owner.
Princess Bubbles had some constipation problems when she arrived. She would Cry everytime she tried to poop. Besides that, she was a perfect, playful, and gentle little puppy. We took her to the vet a few of days after her arrival. They couldn't really pinpoint what was wrong with her. They gave her an enema and we were told she might have Parvo and prescribed her antibiotics. The antibiotics weren't really helping and during the following days, she gradually became less active and more sick. We did everything in our power to keep her well. Asha offered daily prayers so she could feel better. One night Asha went to bed and 5 minutes later, she realized she hadn't said goodnight to Bubbles. She quickly got out of bed and came to see Bubbles and sang her a song and told her that she would pray for her again, gave her a kiss and went back to bed. Bubbles condition only worsened and after a few days she past away. We were all very sad especially Asha. On June 4th. 2008 at around 9:30 pm., Bubbles died warm on her bed with a warm little sweater that tia Vicky had made for her a few hours before.

That night, Asha's prayer went like this:

Heavenly Father,

thank you Heavenly Father for giving me Princess Bubbles.

I'm sad today because Princess Bubbles died.

Thank you for receiving her spirit

I'm sad but I know we will see her again and she can lick my face all that she wants

and we are going to play and be together again for ever.

I love you.

in the Name of Jesus Christ,

Amen.

The Faith of Asha strengthen my sad spirit. Her Faith is so Strong.
We know that Bubbles is happy and free of pain now.
At first I really wondered why we had gone through this bitter sweet experience but now I know why. In her short life, Princess Bubbles brought us so much joy and taught us all great lessons and lots of love.

Yesterday Tio Neri sent us this story in an e-mail. It moved our hearts so much because of our similar experience. I had to post it

here it is:
Our 14 year old dog, Abbey, died last month.
The day after shedied, my 4 year old daughter Meredith was crying and talking about howmuch she missed Abbey. She asked if we could write a letter to God so that when Abbey got to heaven, God would recognize her. I told her that I thought we could so she dictated these words: Dear God, Will you please take care of my dog? She died yesterday and is with you in heaven. I miss her very much. I am happy that you let me have her as my dog even though she got sick. I hope you will play with her. She likes to play with balls and to swim. I am sending a picture of her so when you see her. You will know that she is my dog. I really miss her.
Love,
Meredith.
We put the letter in an envelope with a picture of Abbey and Meredith and addressed it to God/Heaven. We put our return address on it.Then Meredith pasted several stamps on the front of the envelope because she said it would take lots of stamps to get the letter all the way to heaven. That afternoon she dropped it into the letter box at the post office. A few days later, she asked if God had gotten the letter yet. I told her that I thought He had. Yesterday, there was a package wrapped in gold paper on our front porch addressed, 'To Meredith , 'in an unfamiliar hand. Meredith opened it. Inside was a book by Mr. Rogers called, 'When a Pet Dies.'Taped to the inside front cover was the letter we had written to God in its opened envelope. On the opposite page was the picture of Abbey & Meredith and this note: Dear Meredith, Abbey arrived safely in heaven. Having the picture was a big help. I recognized Abbey right away. Abbey isn't sick anymore. Her spirit is here with me just like it stays in your heart. Abbey loved being your dog. Since we don't need our bodies in heaven, I don't have any pockets to keep your picture in, so I am sending it back to you in this little book for you to keep and have something to remember Abbey by. Thank you for the beautiful letter and thank your mother for helping you write it and sending it to me. What a wonderful mother you have. I picked her especially for you. I send my blessings every day and remember that I love you very much. By the way, I'm easy to find, I am wherever there is love.
Love,
God

Summer Break

I'm deeply enjoying my summer break with the family. I realize how important and how nice its is to slow down our lives once in a while and take time to enjoy what's most important. The kids are home and we've been busy doing crafts and other fun projects. The other night we pitched a tent on the back yard and camped out the whole night. It was so much fun!Our next event is deep cleaning our house and getting rid of clutter and having a garage sale. The kids are so excited about it! We will be going to Disneyland with our garage sale earnings.Bryce will be starting Kindergarten and Asha will enter 2nd. grade. They are growing up too fast! Bryan is also doing well and keeping busy as usual. I'm also enjoying of more time with the Photography business. We've had lots of clients lately. Our next event is a 50th. wedding anniversary. It should be fun! I also have a photo shoot this weekend for a young girl celebrating her 16th birthday! Here are some recent pictures of the kids. Bryce graduated from pre-school and Legacy Photography got hired by a couple of schools to do Cap and Gown portraits for them. Here is Bryce's picture! and also others of Asha's latest Photo shoot! You are also welcome to visit my photography website site on myspace to see our latest work!www.myspace.com/legacyphotobakersfield
